Karen Furness
Karen Furness LL.B(Hons)

Karen has practised as a solicitor for twenty one years, initially in Manchester and from 1995 in Cornwall.

Karen is a specialist in Child Care Law, is a member of the Law Society's Children's Panel and an Accredited Resolution Specialist, representing children and parents in court.

In 2008 Karen founded @Cornwall Law, (which became @Cornwall Law LLP in December 2011), with a view to offering all clients a high level of expertise and service.

Areas of Specialism:

  • Public Law Children Disputes – where there is Local Authority/Social Services involvement
  • Private Law Children Disputes – residence and contact with children
  • Domestic Violence matters
Kate Hamilton
Kate Hamilton F.Inst.L.Ex

Kate qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in August 2004 and since then has practiced exclusively in family law matters.

She regularly represents clients in negotiations and at Court hearings in all areas of family law, including divorce, financial, injunction and children law matters.

Kate is an Accredited Resolution Specialist in the areas of domestic abuse and private law Children Act matters (which includes contact, residence, prohibited steps and specific issue matters).

William Barry
William Barry LL.B(Hons)

Bill has practiced as a family solicitor in Truro for over twenty three years, starting at Hancock and Lawrence, later Hancock and Caffin where he was a partner for many years.

Bill developed a special interest in Child Care Law and became an acknowledged expert in the field.

In particular, Bill has been a long standing member of the Law Society's Children's Panel and over the years has represented many children and parents in the courts.

In 2000 Bill obtained the specialist qualification granting him Higher Rights of Audience enabling him to represent clients in dealing with the advocacy on their behalf in any court in the land, be that Magistrates Court, County Court or the High Court.

In 2011 Bill joined @Cornwall Law LLP as a consultant, complimenting the high level of family law expertise that they have to offer.

Danni Nancarrow
Danni Nancarrow F.Inst.L.Ex

Danni has been employed with the firm since July 2000 and is our longest standing member of staff!

Danni works in the criminal department dealing with work both at the Police Station and Crown Court dealing with all types of criminal offences.

Danni obtained her qualification via Truro College and the ILEX Tutorial College and qualified as a Fellow of the Institute in January 2007.

Danni is also an accredited Police Station representative and regularly attends police stations at all hours of the day and night.

Currently living in Par with her husband and family Danni, until very recently, used to play netball in a south west regional league but unfortunately can no longer find the time. However Danni still enjoys keeping fit and also socialising with friends in her spare time when work and family commitments allow.

Paul Simons
Paul Simons LL.B (Hons)

Paul is the supervisor of the Criminal Department. As an experienced Duty Defence Solicitor, Paul regularly represents clients at the Police Station and Court.

Paul deals with the full range of Criminal offences from minor shoplifting and assaults to more serious matter such as rape and murder. Paul is also happy to advise on motoring matters and regulatory offenses.

Paul also undertakes all aspects of Employment Law

Paul is down to earth and approachable and will offer professional advice yet still provide a sympathetic ear in what are normally difficult times for the client.

Outside of the office, Paul is involved in Junior Rugby in Cornwall and enjoys all sport.
